The “Water Matters” project was presented at the 5th Riddle Festival held on Kastellorizo Island, on 17–19 October 2025.
As part of the festival, students and the general public were invited by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) team to discover the fascinating world of science through hands-on activities, creative workshops, and puzzle games.
Children and adults attending the festival had the opportunity to learn about the results of the “Water Matters” project and to meet Nireas and Kallirhoe, the ambassadors of the awareness campaign.
Through riddles, experiments, games, and interactive talks, students and teachers from Kastellorizo, Rhodes, Symi, and Kos explored key environmental issues related to the sustainable management of marine and freshwater resources.
More than 350 participants — students, teachers, residents, and visitors — took part in the activities, engaging directly with HCMR researchers and scientists and discovering how science can become an inspiring and enjoyable experience of learning, creativity, and communication.
