Lillehamer Norway – 10th Press Release

As part of the campaign “Water Matters – Increasing knowledge on the importance of Good status of Water Bodies”, funded by “Water Management” Program of the EEA Grants (European Economic Area of the Financial Mechanism 2014-2021) with the Ministry of Environment and Energy acting as Program Operator,  a project team have carried out a visit in Lillehamer, Norway from 13th to the 16th of September 2023. Members of the HCMR project team met with the Norwegian project partners and shared knowledge and experiences, on issues of sustainable management of water resources.

During the visit, HCMR scientists met with professors from the Eastern Norway Research Institute (Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences) and researchers from the Norwegian Research Institute for Water and the Environment (NIVA), as well as with administration officials from County Governor of Inland Norway.

Team members, had also the opportunity to visit the river Mesna in the town of Lillehamer and the artificial waterways in the town of Lom. Then the participants had a guided tour of the Klimapark and enjoyed a unique experience hiking to the glacier on Mount Galdhøpiggvegen.
